Our goal is to convert the historic Westsider rail line into a 17-mile multi-use recreational trail. With citizen input, the hard work of our volunteers, and your generous financial support, the Yamhelas Westsider Trail will:

• Improve transportation safety - including providing a safe route to school between Carlton and Yamhill

• Expand access to regional parks and trails, i.e., the Banks-Vernonia Linear Trail, the Chehalem Heritage Trail System and the Wapato Lake Wildlife Refuge

• Provide recreational opportunities including biking, hiking and equestrian

• Promote tourism and economic development in the region

• Increase our community's health and well-being

• Provide opportunities to make climate conscious choices
