JOIN FRIENDS OF YAMHELAS WESTSIDER TRAIL

Our goal is to promote the development of a regional network of trails and greenspaces, especially the Yamhelas Westsider Trail, a 17-mile multi-use recreational trail.

 

The Yamhelas Westsider Trail will:

​

• Improve transportation safety by allowing full separation of bicycle and car travel

• Expand access to regional parks and trails, i.e., the Banks-Vernonia Linear Trail, the Chehalem Heritage Trail System and the Wapato Lake Wildlife Refuge

• Provide recreational opportunities including biking, hiking and equestrian

• Be a Safe Route to School for children

• Create a healthier community

• Promote tourism and economic development in the region

• Reduce vehicle pollution
